Introduction.
Welcome to Canon
Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd's Photography Section!
In this section, we will show you how to make full use of the features of your Canon
EOS AF 35mm SLR cameras and EF lenses to create better pictures.
We use the term "create" as opposed to "take" pictures because
that's the aim of this photography section; to help Canon camera owners create better
pictures which they can be proud of.
As the saying goes, "almost anyone can take pictures." All one needs is
a camera, a roll of film and click the camera's shutter button to record that scene
permanently on film and most often, the results are far from pleasing.
Most never stopped and visualised the image they want to shoot before clicking the
shutter and end up with disappointing results. It is also because the majority of
them don't possess the techniques and other skills of the trade used by professional
photographers in order to create those fantastic pictures one sees in magazines,
catalogues and books.
You might want to ask, "What are the techniques and other skills of the trade
used by professional photographers to create their pictures?".
Actually, the secret of professional photography lies in the fundamentals that most
beginners or amateur photographers gather from their basic photography lessons, whether
through beginners' courses or from photography books and magazines.
The fundamentals of photography are as follows:
| 1. |
|
Exposure |
| 2. |
|
Angle of View |
| 3. |
|
Shutter Speed |
| 4. |

| 6. |
|
Lens' Perspective |
| 7. |
|

| 8. |
|

| 9. |

We will explain briefly on all the fundamentals listed above in the following pages.
In the coming issues of The Art of Photography, you can expect to read the in-depth
write-up of each fundamental.
