How to focus attention on your
subject.
In issue No.9, EOS users and other photo enthusiasts alike were shown how to use
composition and framing techniques in conjunction with the three essential questions
to create better pictures using your EOS cameras. In this issue, I will show you
several more techniques, with some of them using certain fundamentals of photography
in conjunction with question number two: How to focus attention on your subject.
Technique No.1: Fill the frame with the subject
This is the easiest of the lot. All you need to do is ensure that your subject
fills at least 90% of the viewfinder frame, regardless of whether the subjects concerned
are still-life, portraiture, glamour, sports or close-ups. Below are eight photos
showing examples of how subject matters can be used to fill the frame:-
