Me? Yes. I do use the Intelligent
Program AE mode, occasionally. And usually when I am in a foreign country on an assignment.
It is more of a case of after completing the said assignment and using any free time
to walk around with an EOS camera set on P mode, ready to click on anything interesting
that I may come across.
Believe me, after days of being
behind the camera and concentrating hard to ensure the pictures (for the assignment)
are perfect, you would want to relax a bit and let the camera handle all the candid
shots that you might come across during your free time. In fact, preparing this article
is probably the longest time I've had an EOS camera set on P mode.
I have to show how versatile the
P mode can be in all the shooting situations that an EOS user may come across. You
can use this mode in practically all lighting conditions, even if the light level
turns from bright sunshine to heavy downpour (typical Malaysian weather) within a
space of 20 minutes.
