With Evaluative, Partial or Spot
metering at your disposal with Canon's EOS cameras, it is your choice of whether
to follow the camera's suggested settings when shooting in manual exposure mode or
ignoring them altogether and choose your own shutter speed or aperture values to
create the desired effect.
In other words, you can use any
of Canon's AF 35mm SLR cameras as your manual exposure camera, without the need to
own a manual focus camera with metered manual capability. All EOS cameras having
manual exposure controls, even those not featuring the Quick Control Dial, have the
metered manual flexibility.
