How about the EOS-1N RS? This
camera is my personal favorite - I have always felt more confident using this camera
for Grand Prix action than anything else until I have tested the EOS-3 with its PB-E2
using the Ni-MH Pack but I still loved the RS model.
While I can roughly estimate how
many sharp or slightly out-of-focus pictures with the EOS-3/PB-E2/Ni-MH Pack combination
between the rapid-return mirror during continuous focus tracking, with the EOS-1N
RS, I knew exactly which frame had the best shot and vice-versa due to its semi-transparent
hard-coated pellicle mirror.
250cc GP action sequences with
the EOS-1N RS
The action sequences above were
shot with the EOS-1N RS in its AI Servo AF mode at 5 frames-per-second (fps). However,
I stopped shooting momentarily (but with AF still active). When the action got closer
until rider No 15 was the only one that could still be seen in the viewfinder area,
I immediately resumed shooting again.
