While techniques may not be important, it is good to have some, so you can cut down on wastage and have a bigger quantity of superb photos for your collection or portfolio. Below are some examples of what I was able to shoot during a visit to Kuala Lumpur's MINES shopping mall.

Pillars of the main entrance to the MINES' shopping mall

Zoom up for another view of what's underneath the pillars

The mall's logo was shot at 200mm

Evaluative metering, focus and shoot in P mode

I only used two budget-priced zoom lenses for the above photos, the new EF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 V USM and the EF 80-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II while the film was an ISO 100 color reversal daylight type.

35mm SLRs are not the only cameras that can be used for shooting snapshots. Point and Shoot 35mm compacts are also designed for such occasions. In fact, P & S models are capable to render well-exposed photos than an SLR camera for a person who knows next to nothing about photography.
