As stated earlier, still-life
and close-ups can also be part of your snapshots collection, just what they might
be are entirely up to you. Walking down any of your local neighborhood street with
your camera along can generate a lot of photo possibilities. The photo of the Federal
Capital's flags (below, left) was initially shot for an article on depth-of-field
but was not used.

Pop star celebrities are also those that make for interesting snapshots, if you can
get close to them. For professional photographers, this is not a problem since they
have access to such celebrities' news conferences or photo calls (time to pose for
the Press). Even then, the fans can also have their fair share of getting snapshots
of their favorite artistes whenever their idols are getting out of their cars or
stepping out from their hotels.
Asian celebrities are more receptive
to pose for or with their fans but most Western types have too big an ego to pose
or acknowledge the existence of their fans wherever they go. And those Western stars'
bodyguards will make sure that the fans don't come too near or they (the fans) will
suffer some broken noses. Sometimes, even Press photographers representing popular
entertainment publications can be mistaken for those greedy paparazzi types and they
will be punched as well.

Children make interesting subjects for snapshots. For those who have mischievous
kids of their own, snapping them having fun can be satisfying. If you don't have
any, snapping your own mischievous nephews and nieces will also do the trick.

Like sporting events, exhibitions
and public road-shows of consumer products are places where snapshots can be easily
obtained, of the products on display, the promotion staff and the visiting members
of the public. However, there are some events where the organizers do not allow beginner
and amateur photographers the freedom to snap photos in the exhibition area. But
such organizers are few so there is nothing to worry.
All the major exhibitions need
publicity to ensure maximum mileage so more people can come and visit the fair. Since
such visitors can come from far away, they will surely bring along their cameras
to snap some photos of their visits. Refusing to let the visitors to pose for photos
in the exhibition area can be a costly mistake for any organizer. It is like telling
the visitors their presence there is not welcome.
