Right. You have seen examples
of how I have used both budget-priced and Ring USM (EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5) zoom lenses
for the five previous galleries. Other than some short captions about the photos
and the zoom lenses' settings, you will realize that there is little or no technical
data at all (shutter speeds, f-stops and ISO film speeds) accompanying the images.
Technical data is not important
because any shutter speed, aperture or film used can vary from one subject to the
other, as well as an individual's preferences for whatever mode he/she may be using
in order to get that particular shot.
In all the photos, it is a case
of using the right combination of the fundamentals in photography in order to get
the results I want. For anyone who has already mastered the techniques of using the
right fundamentals for any shooting session as shown in previous issues of this column,
you will agree that technical data is not a factor that determines the end result
but merely to record your images as statistics.
