Abstracts, close-ups and sports
photography with the Canon EOS 88 AF 35mm SLR
With telephoto zoom lenses like
the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III and EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM, subject matters like abstracts,
still-life and sports comes into mind. While short lenses like the supplied EF 35-80mm
f/4-5.6 III lens or other zooms with similar focal lengths are also able to shoot
abstracts and close-ups, the telephoto versions makes it much easier to do so.
As most users already know, abstract
refers to tightly cropped images of any subject matter, especially still-life objects
and architectures. People and animals can also be the subjects for abstract photography
although you will be hard pressed to find that few have really used them in such
fashion. Nevertheless, here are some examples of abstract photos that were shot with
the EOS 88 camera with the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III zoom lens.

The EOS 88's Evaluative metering
and Intelligent Programmed AE mode were used for all the photos shown above. I agreed
that there is nothing astonishing in all those photos above mainly because they were
plain, everyday sights one can see almost anywhere. But ask yourself this question:
Would you thought of photographing them this way had you come across these subjects
by yourself when out shooting with your EOS 88 camera?
