Fast moving subjects are best
used in the Tv mode, combined with the EOS 50's AI Servo AF, such as motorcycle races,
like those shown below - which was the final round of the 1999 FIM Asia Road Racing
Championship, using the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM with Extender EF 2x.

For the above sequence shots, the
effective focusing was set to the camera's right AF point and this made it possible
to track the leading 250cc rider (No: 45) as he moved out of the chicane. In addition,
the EOS 50, together with the EOS 50E, is the lowest category model in the EOS line-up
that incorporates Canon's built-in Custom Functions where the user can custom-tailor
any of the 11 settings (10 for EOS 50) to his/her liking. I used CF-4-1 to switch
the EOS 50's AF start button with the AE Lock button instead.
