As we come to the end of this
article, I would like to point out several things to the photo enthusiasts who owns
the EOS-3 camera, don't be scared out of your wits with the numerous features that
are packed into this camera. It does not matter whether you know how to utilize all
or very little of the fatures in the beginning stages of your ownership as they can
be mastered over time. Using your EOS-3 on a regular basis will help you acquire
the confidence needed to use any of the camera's features.
Of course, knowing how effective the EOS-3's features can be in getting the shots
would also help to build up your confidence. There's a huge difference in having
the confidence that the pictures will be perfect each time you are shooting compared
to not knowing at all. With such knowledge at your disposal, it will indeed make
you a better photographer the next time you are face with a similar situation.
As stated earlier, there are professional photographers who don't like the ECF feature
and some amateur users who have problems in using it. Even though I have a slight
problem with the ECF of the EOS-3 unit I am using, the automatic AF-point selection
can still work wonders at times, like these indoor photos of Hong Kong's reigning
Queen of Cantopop, Sammi Cheng, in her Year 2000 I-Concert staged at Malaysia's premier
theme park, Genting Highlands.

Believe it or not, all of the
camera's 45-point AF was activated for this concert. As for how I have managed to
get the lens to focus on the singer herself rather than having the AF locked onto
the backup dancers, it was a case of not placing any part of the camera's Area AF
ellipse on the dancers but on the singer. How did I do that?
I simply slanted the camera angle so the Area AP ellipse would not cover any of the
backup dancers and locked onto the Cantopop Queen instead., including the vertical
shot where one of them was blocking out most of the singer. As for the final shot,
I like to shoot my photos with backlighting effect, so when the spotlight was shone
against Sammi and her male dancers, I made sure the Area AF ellipse only covered
her alone and ignored everyone else including the spotlight, for the EOS-3 to get
the exposure right! I only got two shots because that's how long the pose lasted.
