Canon Battery Pack BP-300.
That's easy. The EOS-1V is in a totally different class by itself. Yes, the EOS 30/33
models are capable of capturing GP riders and other fast-moving subjects but the
pro version has a shorter shutter time-lag and is able to get more shots in the same
time frame, as illustrated by this 10-frame sequence shots of the same 500cc rider.
These photos were part of a 15-frame sequence that were shot in AI Servo AF mode
of the EOS-1V utilizing the EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM w/Extender EF 2x and PB-E2 fitted
with Ni-MH Pack NP-E2.
As mentioned in the previous page, the main function of the BP-300 is to enable owners
of the EOS 30/33 cameras to choose between using two CR123A (lithium) and four AA-size
alkaline batteries, and it has nothing to do with boosting the built-in firing rate
capabilities of both models.
In addition, it also allows photographers with large hands to have a better grip
overall as both the EOS 30/33 models are rather compact to hold without the BP-300
attached. It also has a vertical shutter release and AE Lock buttons. The vertical
AE Lock button is useful if you have set the camera's Custom Function CF-4 to enable
AF start function instead of the shutter button.
