Review of the Canon Digital Backpack.
Take a closer look at the Canon Digital Backpack pictured here. Before you rush out
to your regular dealer and place an order for one right away, there are a few things
you have to consider first.
First, its availability differs from one market to another where Canon is present.
Second, you may not get to buy it either even if you have made known your interest
to your regular dealer. This gets more interesting, doesn't it?

This Canon Digital Backpack was meant as a one-off promotional item to be given away
to all professional users of EOS System covering the Summer Olympic Games at Sydney
2000. These professionals, especially those who with EOS D2000 and EOS D30 digital
cameras, found the Canon Digital Backpack a real pleasure to use.
The excitement about this bag would have ended there at the Olympics. But a bag this
good wouldn't have gone unnoticed for long, especially when these photographers showed
it to their colleagues the moment they got home from the Games. Soon, calls were
made to the respective Canon offices in their countries asking about the availability
of the Digital backpack.
In a word - YES. Canon Malaysia is among those that have brought in the Digital Backpack
for sale to professional photographers in Malaysia - and it is available through
its network of dealers nationwide. For other Canon EOS users from other countries,
you can try inquiring from your respective Canon offices about its availability.
It is spacious enough to fit an analog or digital version EOS-1 series body w/booster
as well as several EF-L series zoom lenses, an EF 1.4x or 2x and a Canon Speedlite
plus a spare camera body in its main compartment.
The other compartment is used to store a laptop computer. It comes complete with
a shoulder strap as well as a backpack harness that can be stored away when not in
use. All zippers are dual format and there are two carrying handles, one each for
horizontal and vertical carrying comfort. The internals in both compartments are
well-padded. And for the main compartment, the user can customize the internals to
fit his/her requirements. It can even fit an EF 300mm f/2.8L USM (or IS type) telephoto
if needed. Doing so means there will be less space for other lenses to fit into the
compartment.
