 Shooting
rate is 3 fps when the EOS-1N is set at its CL setting during One Shot AF mode and
2.5 fps during AI Servo AF with the Booster attached. The Booster E1 can use four
types of battery as its power sources. They are the AA-size lithium or alkaline batteries
or AA-size rechargeable Ni-Cd batteries.
The Booster E1 needs to use eight pieces of either type of these batteries for it
to work. Never mix both lithium and alkaline batteries together in the same Battery
Magazine E1 holder since these can cause the camera to malfunction. The Ni-Cd Pack
E1 can also be used and it will be featured later in this issue.
The
Power Drive Booster E1 reviewed here is the Mark II version. It can be identified
by the * mark on the vertical AE Lock button located at the back of the Booster
unit. The only difference between the original (for the EOS-1 camera) and the second
version is the latterís circuitry has been redesigned to accept AA-size Lithium batteries.
It is not recommended to use AA-size Lithium batteries for the first version.
