The user-originated problem aside,
there were no further shortcomings of the IXUS M-1 camera I encountered while using
it in the city. Exposure-wise, there are no complaints. Look at these photos below,
both are of the same subject matters but the photo on the right was printed at the
full-frame format of HDTV, which allows more space than the photo on the left printed
on Classic format.
 
The reflective bright spot from the building on the right does not affect the
overall exposure of the two photos. Certain parts of the photos were in shadow because
the sun was coming from a 90-degree side-lighting direction from the left while dark
clouds can be seen forming in the sky.
With a maximum aperture of only f/4.8, the built-in 23mm wide-angle lens certainly
does not have enough light gathering power for available light shooting, right? Wrong.
That's what I thought, initially but these photos below dispelled that notion permanently.
The APS film used was an ISO 200 colour negative film.
