Field-test of the Canon EF28-70mm f/2.8L USM zoom lens. The EF 28-70mm f/2.8L USM is a high-performance zoom lens whose maximum aperture can be used at all focal lengths. It includes the normal 50mm focal length and a minimum focusing distance of 50 cm - close enough to shoot subjects as small as a CD-ROM or an entry-level EOS camera body. The large aspherical element used on the front helps obtain a high image quality comparable to single focal length lenses. This lens is also my personal favourite. I use it more often than I do with my EF 17-35mm f/2.8L USM and the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM zoom lenses.
