Using this zoom lens for late evening
(dusk) shooting or whenever the sun has disappeared behind the clouds, making it
impossible to shoot with faster shutter speeds of 1/250 sec or faster with an ISO
100 film, the EF 28-80mm is still capable of recording such images even with speeds
as low as 1/30 sec due to its lightweight design, regardless of whether you are shooting
at the 28 or 80mm settings, as shown in these photos of the world famous Petronas
Twin Towers.

The photo (below, left) of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) was shot
at the 80mm setting at 1/250 sec at f/11 in an unusual lighting situation, the airport
area had bright sunshine conditions whereas the land in the foreground was silhouetted,
due to some clouds that have partially blocked the sunlight.

Perspective distortion at 28mm setting
Perspective distortion is another aspect of the EF 28-80mm zoom lens, as can be seen
in the above photo of the partially-completed Telecom Tower with the distorted road
sign in the lower foreground.
