First introduced on the IXUS cameras
of Canon's Advanced Photo System (APS), the hybrid autofocus system employed on the
Prima Super 120 switches between active and passive systems to achieve the sharpest
image for objects. The hybrid autofocus system combines the advantages of infrared
autofocus, which works well at close range and in low light while the passive version
can operate through glass and is highly accurate at longer distances.

In addition, the 3-point AiAF autofocus system enables the camera to focus on the
desired object, even when it is not in the centre of the frame. Alternatively, single
point central AF can also be selected. The "Best Shot" dial has seven settings.
Each setting combines different camera modes to give the ideal selection of functions
for the subject such as Auto, Action, Night, Portrait, Close-up, Spot and Personal
modes.
Full Auto - the ideal setting for snapshots and general photography. It sets AiAF
(Artificial Intelligent Autofocus), low brightness flash, automatic backlight adjustment
and red-eye reduction. The red-eye mode can be switched off when not required.

second to capture the action.
