As stated earlier, the IXUS X-1 comes
into its own when used in out-of-the-ordinary situations. Operating the camera's
switches and buttons while wearing gloves or other sports gear is not a problem.
All the controls are positioned together, are noticeably bigger and have a special
grip, so shooting your desired pictures is easy in most of these situations.
Of course, underwater photography requires special features to make using the IXUS
X-1 as effortless as it is on land. A clever Underwater Macro function helps combat
the illusion of being closer to the sea life than you really are. You can get close-up
shots as close as 45cm and still achieve great images. Like Canon's other APS models,
the IXUS X-1 is capable of shooting in all the three formats: Classic (C), HDTV (H)
and Panorama (P). Mid-roll rewind is also possible.
