As with the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III,
this USM version has a very close focusing distance, namely 1.5 meters. Anything
that is postcard-sized or slightly larger can fill up the frame with the zoom lens'
300mm focal length setting. And for greater telephoto effects, the 300mm focal length
provides a nice compressed perspective ratio to add more creativity to your pictures,
apart from providing a full frame with distant subjects.

Abstract photography is another area where the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM zoom lens
really shines, just like its Micro Motor version, as can be seen from these five
photos below. For the best results in abstract photography, always look for colorful
subjects since they will attract the viewer's interest more than dull-looking ones.

It is also easy to use the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM zoom lens for candid shots.
With its lightweight and compact design, this lens is very good for use in bright
daytime conditions for any candid shots because it will not slow you down. It will
also not attract too much unwanted attention from the people around you. In some
countries, a photographer can easily attract attention upon himself/herself if he/she
is shooting with professional-type equipment. Anyone armed with an entry- or mid-level
of camera and lenses will be the centre of attention he or she will be seen as another
tourist.
