As
mentioned earlier, if you are not that familiar of using focal lengths wider than
28mm previously, you will be amazed by what the 24mm angle-of-view can do to your
photography. As mentioned in issue #6 of The Art of Photography on perspective,
the wider the lens, the more powerful the tendency of the lens to exaggerate
its perspective and the EF 24-85mm USM zoom lens is capable of accomplishing this
at its 24mm focal length.

And since telephoto focal lengths tend to compress perspective, and while the
85mm focal length of this zoom lens may not produce extremely tight and compressed
perspectives, it can still capable of producing photos that eliminates any trace
of exaggerating effect for a more natural, flattering look.
To further demonstrate the flexibility of the EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM zoom lens
in general or travel photography, here are four more photographs that show how it
can be done.
I shot Photo A at the zoom lens' 35mm setting in order to include the "No Entry"
sign in the foreground and still show its location by including the coffeeshop and
other buildings in the background. Next, for Photo B, I just zoomed-up the lens to
the 70mm position for a close-up shot of the coffeeshop building.
