Firing Conditions: Flash fires automatically in low-light or backlit conditions in the Full Auto, Portrait, Close-up and Night Scene mode. (In a creative zone mode, forced flash firing and flash button.)
Flash exposure aperture: Automatically set by the TTL program in the Full Auto and "P" modes. Manually set in the AV and manual modes. In the TV mode: automatically set to match the set shutter speed
Flash sync speed: Automatically set between 1/60 and 1/200 sec. in Full Auto and "P" modes. In the AV mode it is automatically set between 30" and 1/125 sec. to match the set aperture. In the TV and manual modes sync speed can be manually set to 1/125 sec. or slower in half steps (with EX-series flashlights, shutter speeds up to 1/4000 s. can be set)
Flash metering: Through-the-lens off-the-film autoflash metering (linked to the focusing points)
Flash exposure compensation: ± 2 stops in 1/2 stop intervals
Red-eye reduction: With the built-in flash popped up, the red-eye reduction lamp lights automatically in low light in the Full Auto, Portrait and Night scene modes. The shutter release is not locked while the lamp is on

IX (Information Exchange) Imprinting
Print format: C, H, or P format is selectable with the print format button. When the C or P format is selected, the LCD mask is displayed on the viewfinder screen
Imprinting feature: A) Backprinting, the following information is always printed on the back of the print
1. Date & time
2. Focal length
3. Maximum aperture
4. Shutter speed
5. Aperture
6. Exposure compensation amount (the imprinting style depends on the photo-finisher)
B) Front printing, one of the following items can be imprinted on the front of the print
1. Blank
2. Month, day, year
3. Day, month, year
4. Year, month, day
5. Hour, minute (Front printing may not be possible with some photo finishers. The style, size, colour and, position of the imprinted information depends on the photo finisher)
Imprinting preconditions: A) Fixed Time Printing Mode, The FTPM IX data is recorded magnetically during film rewinding
B) Series scene, series scene IX data is recorded magnetically automatically when a series of shots is taken using autoexposure bracketing or AE lock
