The
EOS-1N RS Is An Extremely High-Performance Camera Featuring Real-Time Operation.
SPECIAL CUSTOM FUNCTIONS FOR THE EOS 1N AND EOS 1N RS
Attention, Malaysian users of the Canon EOS-1N and EOS-1N RS Cameras: Your
Canon EOS 1N or EOS 1N RS camera comes with 14 different built-in Custom Functions
offering 35 different shooting options. But despite this range of choice, Canon has
encouraged feedback from professional photographers, asking what other Custom Functions
they would find useful.
The result is 19 Special Custom Functions. These new functions can be written
to the EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-only Memory) chip of your
current camera. Unfortunately, you cannot have them all - but only one new function
can be added to a camera (and not all are available for the EOS 1N RS).
Now Canon Malaysia can add one of the 19 new Custom Functions selected for interested
Malaysian users of the EOS-1N and EOS-1N RS cameras. The new CF can be installed
within 24 hours. However, please note that the new Custom Function feature, once
installed, cannot be switched off since the camera's software has been programmed
to respond to the enhancement on a permanent basis. The cost is RM 150.00. CPS members
will get a discount for the enhancement loaded. The list of the Custom Functions
are as listed below:
SPECIAL CUSTOM FUNCTION 01
Prevents shutter release if film is not loaded. If the camera back is closed and
film has not been loaded, pressing the shutter button will not release the shutter.
This eliminates the risk of shooting with an empty camera. (Not available for EOS
1N RS)
SPECIAL CUSTOM FUNCTION 02
Changes the default camera settings. You can set your own default selections for
the AF mode, AE mode and film transport mode, overriding the default settings chosen
by Canon. The default settings for Custom Functions (usually 0') can also be changed
ó when the Clear' button is pressed in the Custom Function Set mode, the applicable
Custom Functions are changed to the new settings.
SPECIAL CUSTOM FUNCTION 03
Switches off metering timer. When you partially depress the shutter button, and then
let go, the metering normally remains active for about 6 seconds. With this Custom
Function, the metering switches off immediately, conserving battery power. (This
is the same as CF-5 on the EOS 5 camera)
