Analog Camera
SLR Series - EOS 3

Introduction

Image (Loading...)Like the EOS 50E, the EOS-3's Eye-Controlled Focus works in both the horizontal and vertical formats when used for either One-Shot AF or AI Servo predictive AF in all the 45-point AF sensors. The Eye-Controlled Focus is automatically switched off to let the camera take over the control of the focusing point selection in case of failure, for example, when you do not look at a certain focusing point, etc.

The Quick Control Dial, first introduced in the original EOS-1, is an integral part of the EOS 3 camera where it is designed to handle numerous functions. As in the EOS-1, EOS-1N, EOS 5 and EOS 50/50E cameras, the Quick Control Dial's primary function is to enable quick and easy exposure compensation adjustments when the camera is used in the Program AE, Shutter Speed-priority AE or Aperture-priority AE modes.

When used in the Manual Exposure mode, the Quick Control Dial is used for manually selecting the aperture value. Custom Function No: 5 of the EOS-3 provide the option of transferring the manual aperture selections to the Main Dial and the Shutter Speed selections to the Quick Control Dial in the Manual Exposure mode.

When pressing the focusing point selector, the Quick Control Dial is used to select an individual AF-point from top to bottom (vertically) while the Main Dial is used to select an AF-point from left to right (horizontally).

Also new for the EOS-3 is a flash exposure level indicator in the viewfinder alongside the normal exposure level indicator. The flash exposure level indicator is to provide information to the photographer on the differences between the flash exposure of the main subject against the ambient light in the background when used with the new Speedlite 550EX in the E-TTL, TTL or FE Lock.
