The Command Dial will take your photography further
The central
control of the EOS 300, the Command Dial makes it very simple to select your chosen
shooting mode as well as other camera functions. Whatever you're shooting, the Command
Dial will have the setting you need to help you create the perfect photograph. These
include:
1. Full Auto: Now and then you will want to just point and shoot. The camera's
built in micro-computer will decipher all the best possible settings. Use this mode
to take photos, knowing the EOS 300 will deliver outstanding results in all photographic
circumstances. Or, feed the camera a bit more information about your photographic
environment by selecting one of several modes. The EOS 300's intelligence will fine-tune
the settings to guarantee the optimum result for the circumstance.
2. Manual: This gives you complete control of both aperture and shutter speed.
Useful for long exposure photography and special effects, as well as offering you
a chance to develop your own photographic judgement.
3. Aperture priority AE (Av): If you want to control depth-of-field in portait
or landscape shots, you can select the aperture and the camera sets the optimum shutter
speed.
4. Shutter priority AE (Tv): If you want a fast speed to "freeze"
a moving object. You select the shutter speed and the camera sets the optimum aperture.
5. Intelligent Program AE (P): The camera selects a suitable setting, but
allows you to add your own personal touch by adjusting any of the parameters.
6. Auto Depth-of-field AE: The A-DEP mode determines the nearest and farthest
subject points. The camera then sets an aperture which will keep everything in the
selected area sharp.
7. PIC modes: These include Portrait, Landscape, Close-up, Sport and Night
Scene. Choose any of them and the camera will use its intelligence to fix the optimum
setting, giving you the freedom to concentrate on the timing and composition of your
shot.
