The PowerShot G2 offers SLR-like
control to the advanced amateur or semi-professional photographer.
PowerShot G2 digital camera is a new photographic industry benchmark offering the
highest image quality, equipped with outstanding 4-megapixel CCD, high-resolution
3X optical zoom lens, reduced shutter interval, completely loss-less RAW image recording
mode and new Digital Signal processor and RGB filter.
PowerShot G2 is designed for digital photographers who demand precision image capture
management. There are three Auto-Focus modes including continuous, single and 3 selectable
AF points with 12 shooting modes (Program AE, Shutter priority AE, Aperture priority
AE).
Advanced image capture controls include a histogram exposure graph for image evaluation
that allows photographer to see if an image is correctly exposed.
PowerShot G2 uses less power than its predecessors to give users more flexibility
to take high quality pictures without worrying about running low on power.
The PowerShot G2ís built-in hot shoe accepts external EX Speedlites to give users
TTL (through the lens) light metering.
All PowerShot G2 lens converters are compatible with the standard 3.6x step-less
digital zoom (11x total zoom factor). High quality images can be captured at any
stage of the zoom process.
Quick and simple storage of images onto Compact Flash Type II data storage cards
allows up to 1Gb memory capacity. The 1GB IBM Microdrive will hold over 400 RAW or
Large/Super Fine JPEG photos.
PowerShots G2 provides users direct print capability with Canon CP-10 Direct Photo
Printer. Users can print full color; credit card sized images as well as cropping
the shot.
The PowerShot G2 comes with advanced software drivers for both PC and MAC, such as
Adobe Photoshop LE.
