DV Format
Enter the DV world and you'll have to believe your eyes to realize why it is so different.
DV can give more than 500 lines of horizontal resolution, at least a 20% improvement
in picture quality over the best analog camcorders, and delivers an extremely high
S/N ratio. More life-like images result from high colour rendition (resolution),
and there is no colour smear or noise.
2.5" LCD Screen
Get the lowdown to take the high ground - adjust the LCD panel through 180° for
both low-angle and high-angle shooting. You can even flip the screen over to let
the subject look at the recording or make recordings of yourself.
Magnesium Alloy Body
Blending twenty times the durability of ordinary camcorder bodies with countless
times the style.
Finder Unit
When is an LCD screen not an LCD screen? ... when when you clip on the Finder Unit
to convert it to a viewfinder for precise framing in bright sunlit conditions. It
is included in the standard kit.
Optical 11X Zoom (44X Digital)
The Canon optical zoom lens magnifies your creative possibilities; it can transform
distant scenes into dramatic close-ups with absolutely no loss in image quality.
The digital zoom multiplies this to 44X revealing details too distant to be seen
by the naked eye.
Image Stabilizer
A high quality image-stabilization system corrects camera shake instantly, giving
you smooth, stable pictures - even on long telephoto shots without a tripod.
Programmed AE
Puts advanced recording techniques at your fingertips to ensure great results in
various shooting conditions. There are seven programs, giving you the control that
you have come to expect from Canon.
Digital Photo Mode
Take more than 500 brilliantly clear still pictures on a single tape (in SP mode).
The camera records the still pictures for approximately 6 seconds, as well as recording
the sound for your verbal notes or narration.
Digital Effects (including digital fades)
Easy to use, professional quality effects can be added while recording. Choose between
fade trigger, wipe and scroll fades and art, black & white, sepia and strobe
effects.
