Canon MVX1i mini DV

Built-in Flash
The new MVX1(i) incorporates a new auto pop-up built-in flash, making it possible to shoot at the correct exposure, even in dark surroundings.

Progressive Photo System
Canon's Progressive Photo system provides excellent digital picture quality. With this system, a mechanical shutter is used concurrently with an interlace scan CCD to eliminate time lag blurring and capture clear and sharp still images. The enhanced picture quality produced by progressive photo mode will be especially evident when observing the printed digital images.

Programmed Auto Exposure (AE)
Outstanding video results are possible even during challenging conditions. By selecting the shooting mode that best suits the scene, the MVX1(i) model adjusts internal controls to create the perfect video each time. Mode choices are Auto, Sports, Portrait, Spotlight, Sand and Snow, and Low Light.

No-shake photo button
The photo button of the MVX1(i) has been designed at an upward angle in order to avoid shaking which can be caused by pressing the button.

Excellent Operability

Compatibility with multimedia cards & SD memory cards
The MVX1(i) also features a multimedia card slot and 8 MB multimedia card. Therefore, in addition to capturing still images on a DV tape, a multimedia card (MMC) can also be used to record, store and retrieve still images. This slot provides better PC affinity, because it allows simple transfer of these still images to a PC, using a PC card adapter and card reader, without needing to connect to a PC by a DV cable.

Extended Recording
The MVX1(i) includes a unique extended recording function that substantially increases the length of recording time per cassette and prevents the running out of tape at critical shooting moments. To achieve extended recording, 2x greater image data compression is applied in the ESP mode and 3x in the ELP mode. In ELP mode, an 80-minute DV tape will record 4 hours of video footage, 3 times longer than in Standard mode.

Long-lasting battery pack
With the use of Canon's high capacity battery
- the BP-535 - users have the capability of recording for up to 6hr 30min without recharging.

Internal battery charging function
With the new internal battery charging function, a battery can be recharged while attached to the main body of the camcorder, with the CA-560 also directly connected.

Advanced Accessory Shoe
With the Advanced Accessory Shoe, optional accessories can be mounted on the MVX1(i). Once mounted, the shoe is capable of exchanging data and supplying power directly to all accessories with which it is compatible.

Multi-image Screen
The MVX1(i) also includes a multi-image screen, which allows images to be played back on the LCD panel divided into 4,9 or 16 separate screens. Alternatively the camera can display a series of images in sequence. To select the images to be displayed, users can either make a manual choice or use one of the preprogrammed transition speeds: fast, moderate or slow.

New Accessories
The Wide-converter (WD-43), Tele-converter (TL-43), and Filter set (FS-43U) have been newly designed for the MVX1(i) and further expand performance range of high quality movie and still picture shooting of the camcorder.
